A few words about us...

SYNLawn of Oregon is the sole distributor of SYNLawn products for Oregon and Southwest Washington, owned and operated by David and Roslyn McFarland. Both were born in Portland, attending and graduating from local schools. But how did they get to be artificial grass dealers?

It was in early 2004 while David was multitasking as both a stay at home Dad, as well as starting his own marketing venture, utilizing his extensive sales experience. He had tilled up and replaced his lawn the previous year (multiple times in certain sections), but high shade areas combined with two large dogs had resulted in a muddy, messy, weed filled lawn that he no longer had the time to tackle. So David went looking for options. He discovered artificial lawn products online, and promptly dove into researching and reviewing the different aspects and types of turf available.

He easily determined that SYNLawn was offering the best products on the market. To get the product he had to order from a company in Florida, as there was no local contact in the Northwest at all. They were very helpful, but he had no idea about the climate or special techniques required in installing turf in our area. That just wouldn't do. He decided right then that he would just have to take up that challenge himself. The fact that almost no one in the Northwest had even heard of synthetic turf outside of school sports fields, let alone knowledge about the residential benefits and diverse applications, however, that was not going to stop David from promoting what he saw as an amazing "green" building product.

By 2005 David had convinced everyone around him, including the SYNLawn Corporate office, that his taking the reigns of SYNLawn product distribution for the Northwest was the way to go. He and Roslyn made the commitment, found a location, and began their significant investment into SYNLawn. Scott Imbach joined their team that Fall, not only helping them with the showroom renovation, but quickly becoming a key member of their sales team. Other highly qualified team members soon followed as SYNLawn of Oregon expanded and created their own unique and professional business model to best service their customers throughout the Portland Metro, Central and Northeast Oregon, Southern Oregon, the Coast and Southwest Washington.

The business has grown every year, and with more people understanding the concept of "green" sustainable living, people are taking action. The environmental benefits to the NW community by choosing SYNLawn's "green" products. SYNLawn is expected to grow dramatically yet again in 2008, while still maintaining the high level of customer service and quality that SYNLawn customers have come to expect.
